I Good day I’m filing a complaint against Hercules moving systems. I will be submitting approximately 12 emails between my wife and I and Hercules representative Alex her email address is alex@herculesmovingsystem.com. I agreed to use Hercules after several phone calls and numerous e mails to which the subject was a binding bid for my move. I contacted several companies who responded to my email request for quotes. All of the companies priced their moves by total weight, they offered binding bids and I could be present for the weighing of my goods and if the weight exceeded the bid completed by a in home estimate done by their employee my price would not go up. Hercules Moving also responded to my e mail. Alex the representative informed my wife that her company did not need to send someone to do a home estimate if we would send her our estimate. My wife emailed one estimate that showed approximately 1900 cubic feet I emailed the second estimate that showed approximately 1650 cubic feet. Based on these estimates and a list of items we had boxed up, I measured the boxes H x W x L then used the formula to calculate the cubic foot total of my boxes which were less boxes than on the estimate and we removed several items from the list. This list was emailed to Alex. Alex provided us with several estimates that read binding bid or estimate and the bids stated I could be charged 4.25 per cubic foot for items NOT listed on the bid. I contacted Alex just prior to our pick up date to inform her that we were twelve additional boxes over count about 15 cubic feet. On the 28thof July the movers arrived and started wrapping and disassembling our furniture. They arrived in a 26 foot truck, I researched the cu ft. of a truck this size per Penski rentals there 26 foot trucks are 1600 cu ft. of storage, budget who has 24 foot trucks 1300 cu ft. About have way through the process the foreman of the crew contacted my wife and presented her with a new estimate that raised the price of our move by 1500 dollars. Per the foreman he visually looked at what we were moving and to quote him based on my knowledge of the job he determined we had three hundred cu Ft. more and raised the price by the 1500 + dollars. He did show me that he was not going to charge me 150 for my refrigerator and the same amount for my washer and dryer per the fine print of the contract. This was a take it or leave it offer. My situation was its Sunday a professional cleaning company was scheduled for Monday, the carpet cleaners were Tuesday, keys returned to Management Company Wednesday family on flight that evening to Florida. I had no means to hire a different company and this bid the original bid was not that much higher than renting two trucks from Penski one 26 footer and one 16 footer if necessary and hiring moving buddies I think there called an affiliate of Penski who can provide drivers and other assistance 888-522-6710. In all due respect if a company is charging by cubic foot once the truck is loaded it would be easy to get a very accurate price by measuring the truck and doing the formula. Hercules bid the job low to secure the bid providing misleading emails, lies to do so, then simply raise the cost significantly but within the other bids totals. Remember I got a break on the fine print costs. Please look into this as I’ve began looking into moving bids I’m reading a lot of horror stories, also my wife asked Alex about the negative reviews we found on Hercules Moving Systems, she personally contacted both of us by phone to assure us the information was incorrect and she could provide a binding bid. The last email I received from Alex when I complained about this behavior was I might get a call from a manager, did not happen.
