Hercules Tire My wheel fell off Tulsa, Oklahoma
So I have a problem with a local tire shop in the Tulsa area. I did some work to the front end of my truck in March. I had both wheels off. When I went to put it back together, a gentleman I worked with asked if he could help so he put the passenger side wheel back on. Turns out, he did not tighten the lugs down all the way and it fell off going down the road. I put the left side on and everything was fine. Well, I replaced the studs and lugs on the truck and drove it for a while. I took it in last week for an alignment at Hercules tire at 51st and 169. They called me and said it needed a lower ball joint and spindle on the right side which is understandable after the wheel had fallen off. They fixed it and I drove it back to my shop that was only a mile up the road and parked it until the next evening. Well, Friday evening it didn't even get 10 miles down the road and the left wheel fell off. I called Saturday and the person who was in charge was not there so they told me to call back today. I did around 12:15 today. He claims they had never touched the left side. He said they looked it over but never pulled the wheel off. Well, they were the last ones to touch the truck. I find them responsible. We argued back and forth and he says it's my fault. He said I may have left the lugs loose from when I put it on in MARCH. Over eight months ago. When I asked him if he had cameras in the shop, he responded with yes but they were not working that day. How ironic. He told me they had a meeting in the shop this morning over this and he has two witnesses that claim the wheel was never off. I call BS. If I had left the lugs loose don't you think that it couldn't be aligned and that the wheel would have fallen off at an earlier time? He also told me that it is not there responsibility to check lug nuts on vehicles that are in for an alignment. REALLY? THEY'RE A WHEEL AND TIRE SHOP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. It's like ordering a big mac and fries and they tell you to go next door for a d**n drink. Two lug nuts were found loose in the road and the rest had been sheered off busting the studs. I didn't ask for a refund for the repairs on Thursday. I asked that I be reimbursed for the damages. I paid 515$ for work on this vehicle to be done RIGHT! And this is how I am treated? A shop not owning up for a mistake. I own up to mine for having some co worker put the right side wheel back on. I had it taken care of. THE TRUCK DIDN'T EVEN GO 10 MILES AFTER THEY WORKED ON IT! I thought this story needed to be shared with everybody in the Tulsa area. Someone could have been hurt.
