Hercules Van Lines, Anthem Claim Management, Ripoff and unresolved claim when relocating Anthem Arizona
On July 26, 2006 we contracted with Hercules Van Lines to move our personal belongings from Texarkana, Texas to Rochester New York. With this move a great deal of our furniture and belongings were damaged. As a result, a claim with photographs of the damage was submitted to Hercules Van Lines, Inc c/o Anthem Claim Management LLC. They attempted to settle our claim with $321.00 for 535 lbs with 60 cents per lb.
I notified them that the damaged grandfather clock and busted china cabinet weighed more then 535 lbs. I have kept all of the broken and damaged furniture and belongings and would agree to have someone come to my home to see the extent of the damage. Our relatively new desk and bookcases are also damaged. Photographs of this damage was sent to Anthem Claim Management, however after expressing our disagreement with the number of pounds, we have not received a response or another offer on our claim.
To say the least, we are very displeased with Hercules Van Lines, Inc which is out of Dallas, Texas.for a number of reason(s): 1)failing to have the required packing materials and attmepting to do a 2 day job in one day; that is, resulting in our having to stay up all night for them to pack. In fact, my husband actually had to go to Home Depot to get additional packing material. 2)failing to deliver our furniture on time, resulting in major inconveniences and then 3) having the majority of our personal belongings broken or damaged was all we could take. I last notified them a month ago with unsatisfactory results.
We really feel like we have been ripped off and abused by Hercules Van Lines.
I called the newspaper here in New York to see if they would write a story on Hercules Van Lines, however, since they are headquartered in Dallas, Texas they could do nothing for us. My husband and I feel violated to say the least with the majority of our personal belongs being either damaged or destroyed.
I greatly appreciate your checking out this matter and I also plan on filing a report with the Better Business Bureau in Texas. We have been waiting over half a year to resolve this issue to no avail.
