Herff Jones is a company that supplies graduation supplies to high schools, colleges, etc. Their rings are very expensive and cheap rings easily start at round $300. I bought a ring for about $450 in high school and lost it.

I am trying to get it back, but after six months of being bounced form one customer service representative to another, I was sent an email that I was supposed to print out, send to their home office, along with ninety dollars.

I have a few questions about what will happen after I mail it off, but I cannot contact anyone in customer service. The representatives' voice mailboxes are always full and the one person who I found to talk to is never at her desk. I think for all the money I paid for the ring, I should be able to speak with someone who can help me, not just people who sell the rings.

How I got resoultion from Herff Jones: It doesn't just happen with High School rings. I ordered my undergraduate ring, 14K white gold signet ring (no stone). I had to order the ring twice because they lost the original order. The ring came back twice, and both times it was wrong, wrong gold weight, wrong color, wrong everything. I had the same problem, phone calls never returned, etc. When I finally did get a return call, they told me to send it back and they would send me a new one. I told them to send me a new one to the nearest HJ office, and I would THEN drive to that Herff Jones office, (over 100 miles away)and we could make a switch.

They refused and said they "don't do business that way". I ended up getting the Indiana Better Business Bureau involved and filed a claim against them. They responded immediately, I got my money back and went to the jewelry store and had a ring hand-carved to look like the signet ring I wanted with the school seal on it. It was a better quality ring, for not much more than the original ring had cost.
