Heritage Warranty Mutual Insurance Blatantly ripping me off. Lincoln Nebraska
I had a "window motor" replaced and some air conditioning repairs which also required an initial diagnostic check. After admitting the he "overlooked" the window motor (see covered parts #11 Electrical "all electric motors" - in contract) and asking accusingly "why did I pay for the repairs then?" if I had a problem; he is delaying informing/paying me after a number of messages as to what the status of my claim (a month and a half ago) is, and is also trying to weasel out of the diagnostic service. What kind of kick-back is he getting? I'm a college student and I'm not out to rip THEM off.
As to paying for the repairs, the service station said they needed payment before I could get the car (which I needed for work). Do not buy this product!

Still waiting on check...
Was told by the company that sold me the warranty that diagnostics are usually covered too. I'm assuming I'll have to call and spend a number of hours for a third time, but we'll see.

There are few exceptions to a garage wanting payment for repairs before releasing the vehicle

You are being stalled, probably in the hope that you will give up and go away. Continue to press for your promised benefits (or a full refund of premium) and make a lot of noise while doing so. Hard to say when you should pursue small claims court.
Extended warranties are a waste of money. They give a false sense of security but usually the premium is more than the actual covered-repair benefits. if you ever collect those benefits. Maybe you now know to skip all extended warranties in the future and only buy cars/trucks with high reliability ratings per Consumer Reports (April issue).
Meanwhile, why don't you check the "Edmonds Field Guide to Automotive Weasels" ?
