On April 12th 2010 I submitted my request to Buyer Zone for web designing companies referral and in response I got several companies names, I selected few of them and started calling them to qualify them as per my needs , time frame and budget.

One of them was Heritage Web Designing (they also have few other names for the same company), while I was still in process of evaluating this company I got the call from Mr. Ryan V, Program Director Sales of the company, I asked him few questions and he answered all of them and I asked him to quote me the final cost of the project (Designing of 6-8 pages web site).

I got the quote same day and the price for the project was $600.00, I thought of the price little high and bargained with Mr. Ryan and the final cost came down to $450.00 .

On April 14th 2010, Mr. Ryan called me to ask for the payment, we agreed upon the following payment plan:

1. First payment:        50% of the total amount which would be           $225.00

2. Second payment:    will be withdrawn on the 10th of every month   $100.00

3. Third payment:       will be withdrawn on the 10th of every month   $100.00

4. Fourth Payment:     will be withdrawn on the 10th of every month    $ 25.00

After that I gave Mr. Ryan my credit card # to be charged and he asked me to initial few documents online, I told him I am not in office right now but will do it once I am back in my office, I got to my office in couple of hours and he set up an online account for me to initial the online documents which I did , he told me some one from the company will contact me either same day or next day to ask me about how I would like my website to look like what features to include , what color would be for background, in what color the fonts would be etc , etc , and I said thats fine with me.

I went online on Better business bureau Utah website and checked about the Heritage Website Design and to my shock I found that they had about 600 complaints in last 36 months meaning 200 complaints a year and no official action has ever been taken against them.

Then I searched little bit more on this company and found the website www.Ripoffreport.com and found countless complains about this company.

I sent an email same night April 16th 2010 to Mr. Ryan telling him that I might have to cancel this business deal since I do not feel comfortable doing business with them after reading so many negative reviews on his company and next day he called me and said that his company is so big and people always want to get more and want to pay less and that creates a dispute and that you dont worry you will be fine with us.

I waited for about 4-5 days to be contacted by one of the staff members from Heritage web design to start the work on my web site but I did not hear anything, then on April 22nd 2010 I finally decided to cancel my contract with Heritage web design and ask them to refund my money, when I asked Mr. Ryan about it he said he will put me through customer service department and their I talked to Miss. Brown and she sent me an email that she has received my request to cancel this contract, I waited till 4th or 5th of May, 2010 and then sent an email to Ms.Brown and she in reply to my email informed me that I am not entitled to any refund since I had signed the contract and one of the clause said that heritage web design has the right to keep the 50%  advance money even no work was done on your website.
