I contacted Consumer Credit Counseling of America to assist with a credit card that I was having trouble paying. CCOA put me in touch with Hess Kennedy. I received my packet filled out the paperwork and my first payment was taken out of my account. Then my second payment was taken out of my account. After my second payment was taken out I received more paperwork that informed me that they would not contact my creditor until they had a suffiencient amount of money to deal with my creditor. At that time, I called Hess Kennedy to find out why they hadn't contact my creditor to at least tell them that I was working with them and they went through their little spill.

After a few days I had called my creditor worked out something on my own and faxed a letter to Hess Kennedy advising that I no longer needed their services. As I had called and was advised that was all I needed to do was send them a letter and explain why.

I didn't expect to receive my $300 that I had paid, back and cut my loss. However Two and 1/2 months later, I received a bill from Hess Kennedy for $2,700.

I've tried calling and I get continuously hung up on. I even went as far to call, they put me on hold I had a co-worker pick up that line and I called again. I go answered first. They never came back to my first call. Prior to that I called and they left me on hold and went home. This company's repution is to hang up and you may get them if you call from a different #.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I do not owe them a penny as my contract states that "Client has the right to terminate Law Firm services for any reaseon upon three (3) days written notice. I terminated my services because they withheld information until after they had received two payments and now they want $2,700 for what?

I consider my $300 services rendered.
