HP sells consumers notebook PCs "probably desktop machines in the same manner" advertising a model for it's supreme graphics performance over the other models it sells, but is using the same motherboard "via part number" and just using a firmware flash tool to modify settings for the amount of "shared" video memory and charging you premium prices for it.
This is not what they advertise. The consumer can make these settings changes themselves on many high-end aftermarket motherboards and don't have to pay premium prices for it.
