I purchased a remanufactured laptop from HP with a 90 day warranty over a year ago. I had problems from the start with this Pavilion 5250 notebook computer. I knew that it was refurbished but I thought that there would be minor problems if any.

I sent the laptop in for repair 3 times and each time the technicians could not find anything wrong with the computer.

The first customer service rep I talked with was extremely rude and told me "...you get what you pay for" and told me to send it in for repair. The second customer service rep ask me if I had installed software or made any changes to the computer. I told him I didn't. After going through the diagnostic program and using the recovery disk (not finding a problem), he told me to send it in for repair since the computer would shut down whenever it wanted to. The third customer service rep was nice and he suggested that if the problems persisted (after returning it for a 3rd time) that I could request a replacement computer.

Guess what, the laptop worked perfectly for about 6 months and then almost everything seemed to go wrong with it. I sent an email to the corporate headquarters and received a call back from a very nice man which said that he would allow me to talk with the support technicians even though the computer was out of warranty. I called the long distance number and was on hold for over 45 minutes before I hung up.
It's not worth it. NEVER buy a Hewlett-Packard! It's nothing but grief.

HP computers are junk

It's been said before on here and I'll say it again: The only thing that HP makes that's worth what you pay is their printers. I have an HP PhotoSmart 1215 and it's great. Prints pictures on photo paper that look just like they came from a photo shop. Their computers on the other hand are garbage. Nothing but problems with them, and of course Windows doesn't help much either.
