Complaint Review: HewlettPackard

HewlettPackard Telephone Support ripoff

Purchased a new HP Pavilion 6535 computer. Keyboard has button for standby, start menu has standby option. Neither have worked since out of the box. HP tech support says mainly to ignore it since it does not work anyway and they will notify me if there is a patch. They say it is a software problem and their warranty is for 30 days only on hardware. HP telephone support is the worst I have encountered: no toll free phone number, wait times over 20 minutes and inability to solve my problem. HP does not offer online support for this model. What a disappointment!

Even if you call the number some idiot in India, with a thick accent will only add to your problems and leave you hanging when he can't fix it. Save yourselves some trouble and buy a real PC.

Craig, Let's keep things accurate shall we?

First. Yes we all know nobody forced the guy to call a toll # to begin with. But HP being who they are alone should at least "have" a toll free number don't you think?

Second. He or anyone else for that matter shouldn't have to stare at a screen for an hour til their eyes bleed trying to "figure out" HP's site. HP as a computer manufacturer and distributor owes it to their current and potential customers to make their site as easily navigated as possible.

I for one tried what you asked even though I don't own an HP it took close to 20 minutes of reading thru various problems to finally find this one:

Now for some reason don't you think flaming the guy for needing some help with his system is a little much? Or is this a company standard that HP follows?

First of all if you don't want to call a Toll Number you don't have to. You made that decision on your own. HP Doesn't force you to call a Toll # you force yourself because you can't figure out the Hp WebSite. Second. EVERY PRODUCT HP MAKES HAS FREE SUPPORT AVAILABLE AT WWW.HP.COM. I repeat....EVERY PRODUCT WE HAVE EVER MADE. you Probably tried to look under the E-mail Support which may not be available. Next Time Try a Little HArd and use the Search Box on the Home Page. Try Typing ohh I dunno Pavilion 6535 Support, OR 6535 Trouble, or even 6535 (Insert problem here)
