Complaint Review: HH Gregg

HH Gregg HHGregg does not give you their own company's rebate offer! Lexington Kentucky

We purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer and dryer from HH Gregg in Lexington the end of November 2007. It came with three rebates; one for the delivery charge, one from Whirlpool for $100, and one from HH Gregg for $150.

We sent in the paper work for all rebates. We received the delivery rebate and the $100 from Whirlpool. It is now April 8, more than four months later, and we still have not received our HH Gregg rebate. They wrote us and said that we had information missing on the forms, the serial number. We sent it all back again, and never heard anything from them.

We have called the store, we've been promised they will send our rebate, still no rebate. The manager of the store would not even talk to us on the phone about it. I will never shop in their store, and I will never buy anything that comes with a rebate, ever again.

It is not right that creditors and stores expect you to pay your payments on time and penalize you if you don't, but they think it is okay to let months go by without sending you your rebate.

I've actually run into the same problem with my delivery rebate on a mattress I bought from them. I just went into the store told them what was going on, showed them what I was sent from the rebate company, and the copy of the rebate that I sent. They gave me a refund for the amount that the rebate was supposed to be. Also keep in mind that regardless of who the rebate is supposed to be from (manufacturer or the store) the retailer is legally responsible for the customer getting their money back. Hope that helps
