Complaint Review: High Desert Wolves

I went to this operation after finding them on the internet, they appeared to be legitimate. I was looking for a companion for my Siberian/Malamute male.  I am experienced with huskies, northern/wolfdog breeds, many years.  I was horrified at what we encountered on arrival...  The shear numbers, haphazard pens that stretched into the desert with no shelter, sick, wounded, wormed, escaped and starving animals.  Even though this was not what I was looking for, I could not leave without trying to save at least one soul...  Flicker was 5 1/2 months old, feral but a sweet soul.   After 7+months, she had received vet services (at my home-under stress), was healthy and loved my dogs.  She bonded as much as she was capable with us, coming in through the dog door to sleep cautiously However she was an escape artist, and could scale, dig or dismantle any fencing (12'+ with digout fencing). She wanted to be with us, but on her terms only and it was apparent she would be killed... Fortunately I made contact with Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary (although she is very low content) in Ramah, NM and they agreed to take her in ~ not without consequence and much love, resources, and patient.  She is still aloof, does not care for humans, but loves other dogs.  She is a sweet soul that like so many others they bred have been abused beyond repair.  But she is one lucky and loved one...  Put these people out of business, hopefully with charges!
