Complaint Review: HIGH POINTE LENDING GROUP

I applied for a $5,000.00 loan on the internet and a man named James Tuscon from High Pointe Lending Group called me to tell me that I was approved for the loan. He wanted to verify a few details on my account and then he told me that all I needed was the first 5 payments up front to secure the loan $787.50. I didn't have the money right away, so I told him that I will have to call him back. The number that he gave me was 888-284-7760 and his extention number was 323. This was on Friday April 25th 2008. I called him on monday April 28th to secure the loan and he asked me to send $785.00 through money gram. He sent me to his account manager Larry Arnek to handle the money gram. He told me to send it to a Eugene W. Sonna in Canada since this was where the loan was coming from. He explained that it should be sent personally to avoid some business charges. After I sent the money he asked me to call back with the reference number and then my loan will be in my account by midnight. The next day came and no money is in my account, so I called them to see where it was and Mr. Tuscon's assistant picked up the phone and said that he was in a meeting and that he was not available. So I asked to speak with Larry Arnek to see what's going on. He told me that Mr. Tuscon messed up on my account cause I needed to have the first 10 payments up front and not 5. And that he was being repremanded for his actions. But Mr. Arnek was very pushy in asking me to send the next 5 payments, but I said no. I felt there was some BS behind all of this after the fact and told him that I will contact a lawyer. And that was the last I heard from them.
