Complaint Review: HighBeam

HighBeam lured me into a 'three day free trial' which involved me reading one archived news article and charged my credit card $200 even though I cancelled immediately Illinois Nationwide

HighBeam 'Research' must be well known to others as a disreputible company ,but was not to me at the time I was falsely promised to be able to used their 'services' for three days (of which I used and cancelled it after ten minutes). I was blown away to find they had charged me after all...and for $200 !!

My Capital One credit company notified me that they had dealt with them for me and there would be no charge from them. To add more insult from Capital One, they had NOT dealt with them (or their billing department has a terrible glitch) and I was billed for that plus they counted my waiting on their negotiated bill to add on a $39 late charge. I am unemployed as of the past three weeks, and this is extremely stressful.
