Complaint Review: Highland Healthcare

Received a letter telling me that I was one of 10 winners who will split a grand prize of $1.5 Million. A check supposedly from "JPMORGAN CHASE BANK" was included with the letter. The amount on the check $4995.99 and all I had to do was deposit the check and send them back $2,995.00 to pay government taxes/fees.

Further instructions said to call Smith Rickman at 1-289-888-1959 and give him my claim number and he would provide further instuctions. Of course, he told me to deposit the check and withdraw the funds for the taxes/fees and to call back when I had the money.

Being too good to be true, I called JP Morgan in Chigago to discuss this with their business section and as I suspected the check is bogus.

Others need to be aware of this scam.
