Highland moving company in Whitby has the worst customer service!  We moved in October 2011 and it is now December and they refuse to respond to our request for repairs for items damaged.  In addition, their moving quotation was so far off we had to spend $700 extra that we weren't expecting.  

On moving day the movers worked until 7 pm and then asked if they could complete the move the following morning.  We felt sorry for them so we (foolishly) agreed to this request. They didn't show up the following day so we sat around the house waiting for the truck.  We finally tracked them down at 3:30 in the afternoon (a tricky feat in itself) and they reluctantly showed up at 5:30 later that afternoon to complete the move.  

There are plenty of other companies out there.  Take my advice and stay away from this one!!

The information these clients, David and Patty Lahey, have posted is incomplete, misleading, and untrue.  The quotation they received was prepared based on information they provided, which turned out to be inaccurate.  In any event, it was not a quotation, it was an estimate and calling it a quotation is deliberately misleading.

 

The clients state that there was a refusal by Highland to repair damaged items.  This is completely untrue.  The only claim they made was with respect to a treadmill, which was repaired and the deductible waived.

 

The move could have been completed in one day and our movers often work past 7:00 p.m. in order to do this.  Apparently the clients made a private arrangement with the driver to return the next day to complete the move and this was outside of the contract and without Highland’s knowledge.  In addition, they have failed to indicate that the next day was a Saturday and seem to indicate that their calls were not being returned when, in fact, the office was closed.

 

Highland has an excellent reputation and has a AAA rating with the Better Business Bureau.
