Setting the record straight

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, May 31, 2010

The author of this "rip off report"  is one Mr. Scott W of Palm Desert, California. My name is Steven Little, I am the President of Hire Standards - America's Pool Service. My office headquarters are in Thousand Palms, California. I am a resident of the same town as Scott Wilkerson.

I have been employed at Hire Standards - America's Pool Service since November 17, 1997. In this time at my direction I have maintained a A+ rating with the local better business Bureau (BBB) and a spotless record with the State Contractors License Board.

Scott W hired my firm to provide weekly pool care at his home in Palm Desert, California on 12-1-2008. My firm maintained Scott's pool from this time through the time that his service was cancelled on May 20th 2010. Scott's pool was cared for one time a week. There never was as there is not now a written contract that he was required to sign, this was a results oriented verbal monthly agreement.

Scott is a travelling professional that is not at home frequently and rely's on the word of his roommate to determine what service was provided at what intervals. Scott paid his bills on time and his rate was $90.00 per month each and every month until the date of his cancellation. At no time did Scott ever pay more for routine pool care than this rate and at no time was Scott ever billed for conditioner, filter servicing or additional visits due to his complaints.

Scott purchased a Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 240 filter on 7/13/2009, The installed price was $650.00 Scott also purchased a Pentair Intellichlor IC20 saltwater Chlorinator on 7/16/2009, the installed price was $995.00 . Scott paid this bill on 7/24/2009. Beyond these amounts there was never an additional cent that he spent or paid to my firm.

My firm promotes accountability two ways. My employees are required to sign a time in and performance log each time they visit a pool. These logs once filled out completely are returned to the office and maintained here. I offer a scanned copy of these logs to anyone who requests them. These logs indicate the dates and times that we visited Scott's house and the services that we completed on each visit. The second thing that we do is that 100% of the vehicles that my employees use are company owned vehicles which are equipped with Fleetmatics GPS transponders. These are the same GPS units law enforcement uses. I have printed and placed into Scott's file a copy of the drivers log showing exactly the date and time that my employees arrived and departed Scott's house, this log is admissible in a court of law and is ready for anyone inspection at any time.

Lastly, to refute Scott's final claim of the equipment that we installed as being of poor quality I suggest that the millions of happy consumers of these products answer this. The installed equipment was and is a Pentair Intellichlor.

Well I will never be naive enough to believe that as a business owner and service provider that maintains more than 1500 pools on a weekly basis (3500 client contacts by my employees WEEKLY) that we will be able to please everyone all of the time I unambiguously state that it is my position that Scott Wilkerson mis-represented the truth in this submission. There were times Scott was happy with the service we provided and there were times when he was unhappy. The pool was cleaned regularly and each time he complained that complaint was dealt with in a professional and timely manner. The ecologically friendly philosophy I live my life by is one that rings true in my actions. There is not one firm on the planet that has installed as many ecologically friendly variable speed pumps or slashed as many energy bills. There is not a pool service company in Southern California that can truthfully say that we recycle (certified at 88%) 90% of the trash that leaves my facility and there is not one firm that works closer with the utilities to promote energy conservation than Hire Standards -America's Pool Service.

As always my records remain open for any client's inspection or potential clients inspection at any time and I close this letter with the simple request that you do as Ronald Regan would have compelled us, "Trust but Verify" and please contact me personally for letters of reference or any further information you might need. Steven Little, President Hire Standards - America's Pool Service. We are located at 30535 Gunther Street, Thousand Palms, CA. 92276. The phone number is. 760-343-4158
