HireRight/DAC UNFAIR TO TRUCKERS Internet
Somebody really need to do something about the DAC reporting agency HireRight. I understand that this is a consumer reporting agency but this agency should really be called the "TRUCKERS BLACK BALLING AGENCY" because they do not do any type of verification before adding adverse information to your report. Trucking companies take this consumer reporting agency more seriously than they take what is reported on your actual motor vehicle report.
Example: I have a clean Motor Vehicle Report. No accidents, tickets, DUI's NOTHING!!! But on my DAC Swift has reported that I had two accidents at their company. Never mind these two alleged accidents were deemed "non recordable" by law enforcement and that one of the so called accidents had ZERO property damages, neither of the accidents involved any injuries, fatalities, towed vehicles. As a matter of fact both incidents involved stationary objects one of which had ZERO damages and the other less than 500 dollars damage. Yet Swift can put these on my record KNOWING this will black ball me from ever driving again! I can't get a job ANYWHERE thanks to their report! I have exactly FOUR months driving experience. My trucking career had not even yet begun and it's already over because comapanies like Swift can put minor information like this on peoples DAC report. These reports really ought to be regulated. Companies should not be able to place ANY and EVERYTHING on a drivers personal record just because they CAN!!
If they did not want me to work for them anymore due to their own personal company policy regarding minor incidents like the ones I described above that their perogative but they should not be able to report this information to other companies making it virtually impossible for me to ever get another trucking job after them. There are people out here driving who have had serious roll over accidents yet my trucking career is over over a scrape on a back bumper (all truck bumpers have scrapes) and a dented front bumper. How is this fair consumer reporting???

HireRight/DAC is a private company. Large corporations both public and private PAY HireRight/DAC for info on somebody and to place false info on whomever they want for a fee.
HireRight/Dac was sued by the DOJ and FTC and was ordered to pay 2.6 million dollars back in August 2012. A slap on the wrist in comparison to the thousands of livelihoods destroyed.
HireRight/DAC needs to be destroyed and done away with. Hire Right needs to be banned from collecting storing ANY and ALL info on anybody.
MVR's and PSP reports are the only OFFICIAL reports. However, too many companies are using HireRight/DAC and are taking the reports on HireRight/DAC more serious than reports that ACTUALLY matter...PSP and MVR.
But not all hope is lost. There are companies that do not use HireRight/DAC services at all. In fact they AVOID using HireRight/DAC completely. The word is getting around the trucking industry that they are full of lies put on there by vengeful truck companies.

You have to ask yourself why would these companies use DAC if they wheren't liars?After all how hard is it to pick up a telephone and say something like,no I wouldn't hire him back he had 2 minor accidents and I'm just not comfortable with him.It's all about control,they may not want you but they are going to make sure you don't work in the trucking industry anymore.Because DAC is not responsible for any lies they put in there about you,and you have to prove they are lies to get them removed,your going to lose.DAC is also a good tool for people that don't like confrontations,they let DAC handle it and they are out of the picture.
I also think,and I haven't proved it yet but one day I will,that the report you get and the one a trucking company gets are 2 different reports,so how many and what other kinds of lies have they told?
One would have to wonder why they would get rid of you over a couple of little scrapes.But then you have to understand if someone in the company don't like the way you comb your hair your going to have problems,or someone was just having a bad day.I've said it before,this is an ugly ugly business and to them you are just another tool just like their truck.
If I was you I would put applications in with everyone,someone will grab you,believe it or not alot of the companies know who the habitual liars are.Then with all the new drivers they are pushing thru the driver mills,your almost an old timer.
