HMS ,National Home Warranty In cahoots with "technicians" to deny claims Fairfax, Virginia
I bought a home warranty as a first-time home buyer. The refrigerator died. I filed a claim. They advised me to call their chosen technician "A-ONE" (doesn't THAT sound dodgy?!). Had to pay the guy $50. He looked at the fridge. Didn't pull it out or examine any part of it. Wrote the report saying the compressor died. He told me they'd definitely just pay for a new fridge for me.
A week passes. I called to follow up, and they'd denied my claim based on "additional information" he provided in a follow up call that HE initiated. Apparently he made up some stuff about a "clogged" condensor (i.e. blaming me for not cleaning it or something--though he would not have seen anything just glancing at the appliance). So obviously, HMS and their assigned technicians are in cahoots to deny every claim.
