My Husband and I caved in and purchased a low cost "59.00" vacation and agreed to attend an informational seminar. We did, and easily said no to the Fractional. We rarely have the time or money to go on Vacations anyway. They immediately invited us back for Quality Control, they promised to pay us 60.00. Instead of a survey for Quality control, we got another pitch, only this time for H S I ( Holiday Systems International ). However this was sold to us more so as a business opportunity. We were told travel agents are wanting the program, in order to offer better rates to clients. We were told we could purchase a $5.00 1-800 number from Best Buy ( can not), and list their reduced vacations ( 60 days and less) on E-Bay, and Craigslist etc. The presenter claimed his father was was doing this and making $1,000.00's.

We were ultimately sold a "Taste of Paradise" package that included 2 breakaway weeks per month and unlimited Burn weeks....( and all the other benefits). This was for about $3,000.00. 891.00 down and the rest financed. Regretably, we took the bait. We were given a binder and paperwork and told the membership card with account number so we could access "burn weeks", would be sent within 7-10 days. That time period came and went, then we receive a bill! I called H S I, they had no record of us. When I told her where I joined she said oh, they were slow in forwarding applicatioons, and had yet to send ours in.

Within a couple of days we had our membership number, but as they were reviewing our plan, I found out we had been mislead......
1. Our package was for 10 breakaway weeks over 25 years...????
( I faxed our contract whch states 2 breakaway weeks/year for ______years.....they said they leave that blank because there is no year restriction).
2. H S I does not allow the burn weeks to be marketed online.....( why did they use that as the MAIN selling point?)
3. We do not already have the breakaway weeks, we only get ab option to PURCHASE??????? (pay the maintenace fee......usually 550.00 and up PLUS a $100.00 "booking fee".
4. We can not trade a breakaway week in for a discounted Hotel rate.....however their Hotel rates are not that cheap.....their "guaranteed in writing" is only for rates listed online on the Hotels site.( they are cheaper then that....( who pays the rack rate anyway). Most of the Hotels listed were Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn, etc......2-3* TOP......their rates ranged from $100.00 and up! I never pay that amount.
these are only a few examples, there are more!

At that time I asked how I can "get out of this deal". She said to call the resort. I havenow tried for over a week and left 25 messages at least. Their "business" bunber foes to a cell phones voicemail. H S I claims this is not their doing, and not their problem.

HSI's Reply to Customer

Wed, August 19, 2009

Holiday Systems International (HSI), like other successful companies, monitors the Internet for mention of our company's name, and to ensure our customers are satisfied.  Additionally, it is our policy to respond, in writing, to any customer who submits a written concern or complaint.  Because of our diligence in servicing our customers, we researched our records using the information contained here to identify the person who published this blog.  We would like to answer you directly below.

You wrote to HSI on Sunday, August 2, 2009 with the very assertions published here.  HSI immediately responded on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 (24 hours from HSI's receipt of your e-mail) with extensive detail, clarifying your membership benefits and clearly explaining that HSI did NOT sell you your membership.  In fact, we supported your request for a refund by providing contact information for the company where you purchased and notified that company directly of your desires and concerns.

You replied to HSI's response at 9:15pm on August 4, 2009 stating you understood that HSI and Branson's Nantucket were different companies and again requested direction to receive a refund of the monies paid to the resort.  Rather than wait for HSI's response (sent within 48 hours), you decided to attempt to injure the company irresponsibily and publicly via the above blog post.  HSI encourages and welcomes our customers to contact HSI DIRECTLY with any questions or concerns they may have.  We do not support airing complaints in a public forum, especially when we are so responsive to our customers' needs.

HSI does have the best rates on 4 & 5-Star Hotels, Breakaway & Burn Weeks, Cruises, and so much more.  Our rates are impossible to beat.  In fact, HSI provides more guarantees in writing than any other company in our industry.

Since no employee of HSI was present during your sales presentation, we are unable to comment on the events which took place during the signing of your contract.  We received a completed contract from your resort with all the necessary information included.  We had no reason to question your contract until receiving your copy on August 4, 2009.  We have since contacted the resort where you purchased your membership and are happy to state that we have facilitated a refund of your enrollment fees.

It Get's "Better"

I have received several e-mails from various "quality control" representatives within HSI.  I received one on Friday and it contained the "FAX" they received from Branson Nantucket on Friday July 11, 2009.  Now, remember, I called HSI on July 21, and they claimed they had yet to receive my application from Branson Nantucket.........

We also noticed several differences between the original contract we have and this contract that HSI received.......one spot in particular where our initials have been FORGED!  Our contract shows 2 weeks......the FORGED contract shows 2 crossed off and replaced with a 10.  Our contract is blank in the number of years and their contract shows 25.

I did speak with the CONTRACT MANAGER at Branson Nantucket.....I faxed her my contract.  She claimed our initials came from a carbon paper that was placed over their copy......and she admitted crossing off the 2 and changing it to a 10 and adding in the 25, but that was because the seller "didn't understand what he was selling" ?????  So we are supposed to eat his mistake? That means any contract can simply be changed without informing the sellar?

Neither HSI, nor Branson Nantucket will take responsibility.  HSI continues to point the finger at Branson Nantucket.  This is a nightmare that never ends!
