Holland America was paid in full to provide an Alaska Cruise for my wife and I during the period of June 11 through June 22, 2004 on the ms RYNDAM. As a part of the cruise, Holland America agreed to provide a cruise of the Hubbard Glacier on June 17, 2004. As a result of the poor planning, Holland America failed to provide the described cruise of the Hubbard Glacier, bypassing this portion off our trip. In addition, Holland America failed to repair the air conditioning system in the McKinley Explorer rail car that was to provide the transportation from Dinali National Park to Fairbanks,AK on June 20, 2004. With outside temperatures in the mid 80-degree level, the sealed cars with glassed roofs placed the inside temperatures in the 100-degree range. For the remainder of the trip, my wife suffered from the side affects of heat exhaustion due to the hours of exposure to the extreme heat.

I have requested a refund from Holland America for the impacted portion of the trip. Holland America has offered a $100.00 credit toward a future cruise. This is hardly adequate compenstion for a trip that cost $6,285.00. Due to their lack of customer service, I also would not consider future trips with Holland America.
