I recently purchased the vehicle I leased from Hollar Hyundai. I also purchased the extended warranty with a tire package and was told that it started from the day I originally brought the vehicle and was valid in all 50 states for 5 years or 60,000 miles.

in Florida i guess the Auto dealers have very good lobbiests because you have to go the dealer to purchase the vehicle you are leasing. I tried to do it through a credit union and was told it was state statue that I had to go to the dealer.

On the day I went to Hollar Hyundai to purchase the vehicle I also made and appointment for late afternoon on Thursday to have the oil changed and tire fixed. When I got home I received an email stating my appointment was for 08:40 AM on Friday, when I'm at work. So I cancelled that and went into the dearler on Saturday morning.

In the service department I found they did not have the information on the extended warrenty or the tire package I was told the original tire package expired and the only information in the computer stated tires and they service writers didn't know what that meant. I also needed 2 new remotes for the the vehicle both are falling apart. I went to the parts department and they have a bell you have to ring to get anyone to pay attention to you. After the 5th ring the clerk in the parts department finally look at me and eventually came to the window. I told him what i needed and he said your not going to get this today I have to order it and they are $58.00 each and a programing charge by the service department. i said i have bumper to bumper coverage, the clerk stated It's not in the computer and anyway it's not covered.

My bad, I guess i need to read the very very very very very very very small print on the extended warranty, which I'm sure will not be in english, and I'll find that my very very very very very very expensive extented warranty is only valid in Korea because I found out today it's not valid in Florida and probably not anywhere in the US.

First, I don't work for this dealership or any dealership.

The information that you have to go to the dealership to buy the vehicle is correct BUT you don't have to finance your purchase through the dealership.  Those are two very different actions. The dealership sells you the vehicle but the funds for your purchase can come from a credit union. Happens every day all over Florida.

Those extended warranty's are ripoff's, in my opinion. You can cancel it immediately and get the prorated share of its value applied to your outstanding loan balance or returned to you.  Be persistent.

If I were in your shoes, I would refi the loan if you received it from the dealership and it isn't a decent rate. Otherwise just get the refund for the bogus "bumper to bumper" warranty. Take a look at your contract to see if it was actually added to the balance or if it was just something the F&I guy said. Good Luck.
