Hollywood Video Game Crazy Accused us of not returning movies/games - sent to collections Internet
I had a power play membership with 3 out at a time. I returned the items shortly before the store closed down for good. I received a letter from the corporate office demanding $205.52, for the items they claim I never returned. The letter stated I had to pay the amount owed or the matter would be turned over to their collection agency.
I have tried to contact the numbers on the letter and there is always a voicemail, regardless of when I try to call. I tried another number and it's been disconnected. A third number allowed me to leave a message, but they never return my calls.
How can I resolve an issue if I am unable to reach a company that has gone out of business? I doubt the collection agency will disregard the claims they have against HV customers.
This is a huge inconvenience to me, the company is now defunct and will not care about consumer issues, but this is to warn others of their 'scam'. If enough of us complain, perhaps they will dismiss the collections?
