Before I signed the contract, they promised to fix a problem with the motor of a 2001 Firebird. I signed and they put the car in their shop. They couldn't figure out what was wrong, so they took the car to Mandal Pontiac to see if they could find out what was wrong. After 2 weeks Mandal figured out it had a couple of burnt valves. Now, since the repair cost is going to be higher than the cost of changing the plugs or plug wires, Holmes refuses to fix it. They also refuse to refund my down payment.

This all started August 30, 2007. I haven't seen the car since then and I'm am about to make my second payment on it. I got the Attorney Generals Office involved, Holmes first said I bought the car as is, now they're saying they gave me a discount "due to the condition of the car". This is a bald faced lie.

They gave me a discount over the phone before I ever came to their lot and before anything at all was said about a problem with the motor. The only thing the AGs office did for me was drag this out to 3 months. Now it seems I have a choice of either finding a lawyer and suing or pick up the car and get it fixed myself. The funny thing is Holmes has an ad that says "Where sold "as is" is a DIRTY WORD.
