I am a real estate appraiser in Oklahoma. At the beginning of December I was asked by the branch manager ofthe OKC Home 123 office to get all of my unpaid invoices together and email them to him sothat he could get them paid by the end of the year. This is where the nightmare began. Home 123 owes me over $1400 and I did EXACTLY as the manager asked and have yet to receive anything! I have spoken to accounts payable and theysaidthey would Fed Ex a check. Well a check for part of what they owe me was cut and mailed regular mail even though I was Gauranteed it would be rushed and Fed Exed. Will it has been a week since this check was supposedly mailed and nothing from Home 123 is in my mailbox. To make things worse, the OKC branch of Home 123 was closed and none of the remaining check requests were sent for approval.

I have been passed around from person to person and was finally told to fax the orders for the appraisals to their corporate office so they could see that I was not lying about them owing me money. I understand their point, however it is not my problem that they chose to close a branch prior to getting that branch's bills paid.

I have asked the lastes lady Iwas referred to to have the money wired to my account andshe insists that their company does not have that capability. Well I am a small business and I can go intomy bank and wire money to them if need be. Yet this big corporation that handles millions of dollars every year can't wire my $1475???

Furthermore after faxing and emailing the orders to their company I was told by Sandra (the lady I am now dealing with) would handle thing just as she does with everything else, which by the way appears to be in her own good time because when I called her about this she did not even have time to talk to me. She said I needed to email her.

I was actually told that she would Fed Ex the check requests to Accounts payable and they would process them. Well what ever happened to fax machines and email.

I am sure that this sounds realy stupid to most people but as a fairly new small business I have to count every penny so that my bills get paid and my family can eat. Obviously Home 123/ New Century only cares aboutthe money going into THEIR bank account and not the people that make it possible for them to complete a loan. Appraisers beware, if you do work for this company make sure you get paid at the door!!!

>>>>"You coudld always threaten to turn them into the banking commission...that is usually enough to get them moving!"
You do realize that Home123/New Century is basically bankrupt and has ceased all lending operations? They are not taking any new loans, sent other loans back to brokers, stopped funding loans 3 weeks ago.

Their stock was at $33.00 in October, it was de-listed last Monday and is trading somewhere around $.81 right now.

Their have been served subpoenaes from the Feds for accounting irregularities and possible illegal stock trades by the owners/officers.

I don't think turning them into the banking commission is even going to show up on their radar screen.

New Century is kaput.

I am a mortgage broker in North Carolina and we always have our customers pay at the door before the appraisal is even done, that way our appraisers don't run into this situation.

Not sure why you let them own you so much money. I would have thought after you didn't get paid for one or two you would have either cut them off or tell the loan officers you dealt with that the only way you would do the appraisal is if you got paid at the door before the appraisal was done.

You coudld always threaten to turn them into the banking commission...that is usually enough to get them moving!

Good luck!
