Complaint Review: HOME DEFENSE LAW GROUP

BEWARE PEOPLE!!  First of all, in this Company there are not attorneys. Rafael Matos is the General Manager only, but he have the guts to talk in a radio show (fm rumba 100.3)spanish radio station like if he is an attorney, you can listen to him on saturdays at 8am. The company Home defense law group refer their customers to Dorough & Calzada who are the real attorneys at a different office in Orlando. Home defense law group only works like the middleman. This is what happened to me...

The first time I went to home defense law group I spoke to Silvia Aquino, she is just an employee with no degree in Real Estate just a lot of customer service and sales training, no matter what problem you have with your home, she will tell you they can work on it, because the government is just helping everybody right now and this is your one time opportunity and she will show you a few good cases they say they won against the bank, but don't fall for it, its all blah blah blah, and then she is going to show her good customer service skills and she'll sign you up and take your money, so she can get paid off course, but that's not it, then she'll tell you that you have to pay $495 a month until your case is resolved and it can take from 6 month to a year, and if you say you don't have the money ($495) and if you are not paying your mortgage she will tell you exactily that, but if you are not paying your mortgage you can pay, then she'll tell you to wait about 1 or 2 weeks so they can study your case and then send it to one of their adjusters they have in office, so this is what they did to me...

They sent my case to Zaida Camacho (Adjuster) which is just another employee in the same office with no degree but training only, but I have to tell you this, Zaida is the worst qualified person ever to have any case, the first time I met her it was one month after I signed up with them, even though I spoke with her about my case 4 times during that month, when I was there she did not know who I was, or remember anything about my case, then she said let me get your paper work, and she was like I haven't get to it yet. She didn't send the modification papers to the bank like she told me she did over the phone, so she lied to me, but she said she will get to it that very same day, but that wan't true.

Every time I called Zaida at this office, nobody would answer the phone, and if they did they will not let me talk to her or anyone else unless I have an appointment, and when I had the chance to talk to zaida she will tell me the samething everytime like a machine " I already send the papers to the bank, it can take from 30 to 45 days for the bank to respond, get ready to bring your last pay stub and bank statements, all you have to do is wait, you don't have to call, we will call you"  ha, I am about to lose my home but she wanted me to wait. I was being taking for a fool for three more months with the same response, but the weird thing was this..

It was about 3 months with them and I was already in court for foreclosure and everything, but for some reason the name of my attorney who I believed it was Rafael Matos never appear in the court records online as my defendant attorney, I mean come on, 3 months have passed and I still didn't have an attorney to answer to the court for me.

I called a million times to home defense law group, every day, until my fingers hurt just to get an appointment with Rafael Matos who I believed was my attorney at that time, so that he can answer me why he did not answer in court yet, but everybody in the office : Silvia, Karen, Zaida, Carmen, and few more people that I don't remember their name told me the lawyer is almost never in the office because he spend all day in court, all lies as always.   What they didn want to tell me was that they are not lawyers, they only work as the middleman. Every time I called and ask specially for somebody they said, oh that person is in vacation now, call next week, or that person is sick call next week, or they can no make me an appointment with Rafael matos because he has to aprove it first, so they were still taking me for a fool...and I was just another victim...

Another month passed, and by this time I just wanted my money back, so I demanded to get me an appointment with Rafael Matos or I'll cancel my contract. That very same day someone called me from that office, his name is Steven, I didnt know this person, he was the only one after trying for 3 weeks to set the appintment for me for the next day, and told me to go the Orlando Office 419 N Magnolia Av. to talk to Dorough, Calzada & Soto, so I asked why with them, I don't know who they are, then he explained to me they are the attorneys who are working on my case. I was surprised, because when you go to home defense law group the first time they never tell you they are not attorneys. I don't think you are going to do business with home defense law group after reading all this, but if you go there just to see what they say about your case, ask them to speak with the attorney, they will say, the attorney is not here, he is in court, you need an appointment, but you don't need to talk to him, because we can help you too, we have been train to help you, all lies...they are just sales people, they would sell you anything just to sign you up, they work on commisions too.

When I met Calzada the next day, the one who was my attorney and I didnt even know said, you are here for your bankruptcy case right?  I was shocked, he didnt know I was one of his modification loan clients. We sat down and Talk for about 4 hours about my case. He could not believe what I was going through over the other office at home defense law group, he said he never got any of my documents about my case, It was just a mess, then I asked who is Rafael Matos, he said he is the manager for home defense law group, that they only work together, but he doesnt know nothing about how home defense law group operates but that he will talk to Rafael to fired all the people mention above for lying to me and tell me that Rafael matos was my attorney, all blah blah blah, a month later I called home defense law group  like if I was a new customer and demand to speak with the people he said he was going to fire, the surprise was mine, to know that all of them still working there lying other people and this attorney Calzada is just another actor that also lie to me. He said I don't like the way Rafael Matos is running home defense law group, but they all still there, same people, same lies, same sh....

After I asked him I want to enter the mediation program which he accepted it, he withdraw my case and returned my money back. Now, I have a mediation comming up and not attorney. Calzada  and home defense law group made me waste all this time for nothing, and let me in the same hole I'm in.

I guess he was furious that I found out the way he operates with Rafael Matos ans I also told him I checked him out on the Better Business Bureau and the ripoffreport as well, and he was shocked, but denied the first complaint about home defense law group, he said he doesnt know anything about that, so if you are one the victims from these 2 firms and don't know yet, don't take too long to find out, print this page and take it to him and demand your money back right now before its too late, and if he doesnt do it, tell him you are on your way to report them to the better business bureau and ripoffreport just like I did.

I feel sorry for the people that this two firms are still lying to. People that work hard and do anything just to save their home like myself, and just because I listened to him(Rafael matos) in the radio I thought he knows what he is talking about, this is a good attorney. Later I realized he is only a clown and this people would do everything they can just to keep their business alive, they don't care about other people but themselves, please becareful when looking for attorneys, not only rely on the better business bureau, always check for scam or ripoff reports too, now home defense law group will also refer people to IMMIGRATION ATTORNEYS and will have a NEW ADDRESS that maybe when this gets posted wont macht with the address I have here, so becareful who they refer you to, God Bless...
