Complaint Review: Home Depot

Home Depot Delivered wrong product, blamed the manufacturer, promised compensation for the 3 week delay it took to get the right cabinets, then claimed not charging me a restocking fee for taking back the wrong ones was the compensation! Watchung, NJ Nationwide

I ordered kitchen cabinets after many WEEKS of agonizing meetings because their sales people don't know how to use their computers. After the order arrived, they had ordered two key cabinets wrong and several others were damaged and/or defective. They immediately blamed the manufacturer and after over a dozen calls and battles promised compensation for the delay "after the kitchen is all finished." After over 3 more weeks of delays, the proper cabinets were finally delivered, but the damaged ones never replaced. My contractor did his best to make use of them and hide the defects. Then they claimed the promised compensation was given in the form of not charging me a restocking fee for taking back the wrong cabinets and not charging me again when I received the cabinets I had paid for in the first place!
