I requested some 'Handy Man' services from Home Fixology, Mississauga branch. I got the quote from their manager for some plumbing work, locksmith work, electrical work and 'handy man' type of work. 2 guys came to work on it on the decided day.

1. Plumbing work involved looking at the existing Tap in the kitchen and see if its broken or not. If it is then either try to get the part or else replace the tap. The guy opened the Tap, told me it can be fixed but he'll just replace it because he doesn't have right tools with him to fix the one that was in place. I asked can I go get the part so we can just use the old Tap and he said No. I figured it wasn't a big deal, at least our tap was fixed. I let it go.

2. Locksmith work involved placing a Deadbolt on the front door in addition to the one that's already there. The same guy who did the plumbing work put it on. Somehow the alignment is not exactly right so we have to hold the door in one spot to be able to use both locks. Which is kind of quirky and odd but I let that slide too

3. Handy man work involved putting a Flat Screen TV frames on the wall in 2 places and run a Cable TV cable from one end of the room to another. This was done as expected.

4. Electrical work. This is where things got interesting. I had asked them to put 2 receptacles in the Garage near the ceiling so I can plug my garage door openers directly in there instead of running an extension cable. Originally the guy who gave me a quote told me that it can be done and his men will be able to do it. When the man arrived, he said it can't be done from where they were originally thinking of tapping the wire. So we found another source where they could tap in and add the 2 additional outlets. As soon as he added those, the whole electrical circuit in the garage got messed up. Anything I connect there now blows the fuse. So I had to call them again and come fix it. The same guy came, tried to open the receptacle but couldn't open it. Broke the screws on the receptacles to even see what's wrong. So instead of fixing the issue, he just dismantled the circuit that he added. But the problem still remains. May be they damaged the fuse or something but now I can't open the garage door or run my lawn mower from the garage outlets, which I was able to do just fine before they screwed it up.

I called them up again and asked them to get it fixed and they said this is the best they can do. I then found out from the conversation that the mad working on the electrical stuff was NOT an authorized and certified electrician. That is against the law. He should not have touched our electrical wiring if he was not certified.

They are not ready to help and I am determined to teach them a lesson that they can't just get away with a mistake like this. Not to mention that I had to deal with the individual's attitude and rudeness when he had to come dismantle the circuit, which he didn't do it right anyway.
