Home Modifier and its agents, Clint Paulson, Dave Gunderson, Jeff Withycomb, Patti Harris, Casey Lawrence, and Paul Fries are apparently in the business of taking $1700 up front for loan modification services and not delivering.

They appear to do work for their clients for a while, then stop answering phone calls and e mails. My loan modification application, turned in by them, is so screwed up that I will lose my home to foreclosure soon.

I suspect they gave my servicer information about my finances that isn't true.
I Know of at least one other client in the same boat. He also lost his money and has been told that Home Modifier is out of business.

Home Modifier still has working phones and web pages so maybe they're still collecting money from trusting people in trouble.

I can't find any info on this company other than their own web sites. I hope the states of Washington and Idaho are going after them.

I have had the same problem with home modifier I paid an up front fee of $1200 in November of 2008. I was told they would for sure be able to modify my loan. They would do all the work and all the hassle of dealing with the bank during this process. I filled out loads and loads of paperwork. Then after months with no response supposedly from my bank I was told I would get a $1000.00 refunded. Then conveniently the next day my bank decided to work with them this was in February 2009. Then I lost my job in March 2009 I was told now we would fit in the Obama program so I filled out even more paperwork. I was even quoted my new payment which was about $500.00 a month less then our current payment. Every week I got a response from the home modifier employee telling me they spoke with my bank and my loan was being worked on. Then I emailed them today 10/12/2009 and received return to sender email. I called and now they just have a blank machine picking up messages. Now the company is out of business. I called my bank and they received one call from this company in December 2008 and one call in April 2009. We gave these people loads and loads of personal information and none of it was turned in and nothing was worked on with our bank. Not only am I seriously upset about the money but all the waisted time I worked on this for nothing. Now I am afraid of what may happen with my personal information now in the hands of scam artists.

Hi,

I'm going thru the same thing.  I am sending a petition to take them to small claims court today.  I've emailed the Department of Finance and Real Estate in Idaho but heard nothing back.  I have a complaint filed with the BBB and the State attorney general.  If I hear of anything or make headway, I can let you know.  you can email me at (((Redacted)))

 Thanks
