I was contacted by phone by company and was told they could assist me for only $265.00, due to fact that I was current with mortgage lender (Wachovia), appointment was given to come to their office by Representative named Patrick Martinez, who after conversation stated that their company was backed by Attorney named Gary Lane, and to represent me with Wachovia, they required payment of $2995.00. to start process and that they would immediate request a Qualified Written Report from Wachovia. I informed Mr. Martinez that I only had $1500.00, which was my mortgage payment, and I would have pay the remaining $1500 in thirty days, due to the fact I am only receiving workers comp benefits of $2400 monthly. I knew from watching the news that a qualified written report was to be responded to in 21 days. So after 3 weeks, I tried to call Mr. Martinez and was given the run around on the phone. I received a letter showing that home owners assistance did send a letter to Wachovia, but after inquiring about their response from Wachovia, Mr. Martinez could not give me a copy of what they
had received, but was very insistance that I pay the remaining the balance before his company could "move forward". I decided not precede with their company and demanded a refund of money minus postage paid for one letter mailed to Wachovia, but he refused stating that I signed a contract, and put someone acting as a supervisor on the phone, to whom I told the same thing to that I wanted my money back, because they had not done anything for the first installment payment. My friend notified me that this company was on the ripoffreport, and that's why I am filing this report. These types of companies need to be prosecuted to the highest extent of the law, and return monies received from struggling homeowners such as myself. It's a darn shame that companies like these are allowed to set up such businesses as this! I need my money to pay other obligations, and can't afford to allow them to keep what they don't deserve..
