Complaint Review: Home Value Restoration

I advise that you use caution when considering this company.  Mike Knutson/Home Value Restoration has multiple unsatisfied judgments in Minnesota & Montana and possibly other states. This would include customers, suplliers and child support obligations.  He has used multiple differernt company names to avoid paying his bills in at least 5 different states (Minnesota, Oklahoma, Montana, South Dakota, Wisconsin & Colorado).  Names used have been Home Value Improvements, Storm Restoration Company & now Home Value Restoration.  The IRS is also chasing Mr. Knutson and every company he owns.  Mr. Knutson has attempted to transfer and hide assets to avoid his tax liability.

I am also aware that Mr. Knutson hires Mexican crews.  They are great workers and that is not a reason to think work quality suffers.  The problem is he finishes his season every year owing whatever crew he has on multiple jobs.  He then never pays them.  He gets paid by the customer and pockets the money that was supposed to pay the people doing actual work.  Unfortunately, most of these crews don't know how to file mechanic's liens or lawsuits.  The next year, he just finds another crew.

Everything may go fine but if it doesnt, your warranty probably ends when the final check clears.
