I contracted with Joe and Anna Yurick, franchise owners of Home Video Studio, to transfer two VHS tapes of family footage over to DVD for me. Their website looked professional, they had no BBB record and they were local. One tape in particular was archival footage of my grandparents, aunts and uncles, many of which are deceased, that I was taking to a reunion to show to 100+ family members. I met with Joe Yurick on 6/14 at his home and he assured me that the transfers and copies would be done with no problem by 7/1(that gave them 18 days). He charged me just under $100, which I paid for at that time.

On 7/1, I called to follow up with Joe and Anna to see how the transfer went and to see what time I could pick up the DVDs. I reached their company voicemail and left a message. On 7/2, I called again, thinking that maybe I could catch them live--again voicemail and no call back. On 7/3, I sent them a follow up email just to see how things turned out and when I could pick the items up--still no call or email back--nothing?! At this point, I was starting to get a little worried- this is the only footage that my family has of my grandparents. I was starting to feel that I had made a mistake by going with them and that they were avoiding me.

On 7/5, I called, got vm and left a message that I was concerned that no one was calling me back and that if they couldn't do the work, I understood, but just call me so I can make other arrangements. NO RESPONSE! The lack of a courtesy phone call or email back saying anything---we are working on them or we are delayed or we forgot and we will get right on it--never happened--the whole situation made me sick. 

Today, 7/6, I went to their home and by chance caught Anna outside. She thought I was another customer dropping items off. I told her that I had repeatedly tried to contact them and wasn't getting any response. She became nervous and stated that she always checks vm and emails and can't imagine why she didn't get my 4 messages. She also said that her husband Joe wasn't home but she would would check to see if the tapes were done.

She came back and informed me that they hadn't started them yet, but that they can do them right away and have them for me by Monday. I told her that I didn't feel comfortable with their service at this point and that I would just like my tapes back along with my refund. Next thing I know, her husband, who she said wasn't home, comes out of their basement and answers the door for another customer. I asked them for an apology when i left and got the heck out of there with my originals.

I have never written a complaint online before, but the Yuricks have made me so upset with their terrible customer service and complete disregard for my order, that i feel that it should be noted. I am now left to find another company to transfer this footage at the last minute as a rush order. They didn't have the courage to call me and make things right. They should be ashamed of themselves.
