I too am experiencing problems with getting cooperation from Homecomings. I recently divorced. When I first seperated from my husband in March of 2005 my father offered to by the house from me so I could get a refinance and be able to afford to keep the house. I have 3 children so it was important to have this home. We got almost to the end of the purchas and a lein showed up on the house due to bills from my ex-husband (no surprise!) my husband bought another house and was in it.

I talked to homecomings about it and they had nothing to say but fill out a package to see if I qualify for some programs that to this day I dont know what they are because every time I filled out the paper work and sent it in I got no response from them. I have filled out the same papers at least two or three times and no response. Homecomings also added on insurence when we had our own and jacked up the payments.

They are not interested in helping you. I told them all about the fact that me and my children will be on the street if I forclose. I dont need that right now. I have no where to go. I havent gotten return calls back from them and I put the house up for sale. I was sent a letter from Homecomings stating that they are auctioning off my house on September 2, 2005 and I called and told them I have a buyer for it now and they havent even returned my calls. Something needs to be done about this company.

I cant pay my mortgage and I can barely feed my kids now. I have to pay for my car because I have to get to work and so bills get pushed back further and further all because of the crap Homecomings pulls on people.

SELL NOW

#2Consumer Suggestion

I was in the same situation but with a different company. We tried and tried to get it refinanced but we had no success. Do you have a realtor to sell your house? Have they appointed a trustee? If so your realtor should handle all the paperwork and dealings with either your mortgage company or the trustee. You do have the option to sell your house before the auction date. That is what we did. It is better to sell it than have a forclosure on your credit. Hopefully all will turn out good in the end like ours did. I hope you at least get some money back from the sale of your house to get out of debt. Any questions talk to a realtor you can trust. If you have a cash buyer and not a financed one the sale can go very quickly. From start to finish it only took us 2 weeks to take care of everything. Our house was only on the market for one day before we had a cash offer. You can always rent a home in the meantime that's we are doing till we can decide what we want to do. Hopefully all will work out for you and your kids.
