We went to refinance our constrution loans and our contract of deed. The lender said we would have $800 payments before taxes and insurance. We also have a fixed mortage at 5.5%. When we came to the signing it was $1250.00 payments and 7.75% interest. It took so long to get thing closed that we had contractors taking us to court so we had no choice but to close on the house. The worst thing we have even done. Homecomings are the worst company to work with. We have been selfemployed from the being of all this and they knew it. So if we were more then 5 days late they were calling asking for payment. There was a couple times our home almost hit forclosure, but we paid the god awful price they won't. Just so we could keep it. All those late fees, attorney fees and extra charges ( i don't even know what they were for). We alway thought that we had and individual insurance plan on us. Being self employed we wanted to be safe, so if something happened to one of us : we would be covered. Ya right they say theres no such thing on our mortage. And other course My husband had a bad trucking accident and was out of work for almost 4 months. Then he had to fix the truck sohe could go back to work. He did that with 5 broken ribs. We got the company back up and running but to was to late. We could not pull it out of foreclosure this time. They would not do planment arrganments. or helps us out at all. Now we have a chance to refinance the house and the won't return call. Can't get a payment amount so we can finish our closing. and in Minnesota we have a redemption period and i have a feeling there going to wait till it's to late and we can't get it back! After the redemption period if over they could do what ever and charge what ever they want! So If there is any one out there who can help us PLEASE PLEASE DO SO!!! We have built our house with our own hands. Dug the hole, laid the blocks and framed up the basement to move in our home that came all the way from the cities. This was our dream from 1999. And there tying to to steal it from us. Some please help.

1) There is NO insurance to cover payments while you are down and out offered through any lender.

2) There is individual insurance to cover payments while you are down and out offered through independent agents, BUT, it is very costly and wouldn't be included in your PITI.

3) Not sure what Life Insurance has to do with anything. Life insurance covers the loss of a LIFE, not broken ribs or short term disability.

4) They did not steal your home, they foreclosed on it. Read your mortgage documents. If you get behind, that is how they attempt to cure your mortgage failure. They did what is well within their rights as your lender.

5) This is extremely unfortunate, but you have NOT been ripped off. You didn't make your payments and they took your home. That's what they do. They aren't in business to give you a free ride.
