Complaint Review: HomeCraft Exteriors Plus Inc

HomeCraft Exteriors Plus Inc, HomeCraft Exteriors Unethical, scam Center Moriches, New York

HomeCraft Exteriors plus came to our house and gave an estimate for siding and roofing.  We gave the man a $100 deposit and signed an agreement.  Unfortunately a tree fell on our house and we informed him we would be using a general Contractor recomended by our insurance company.

Months later we recieve a bill for the first installment of $8000 for services not rendered.  Let me repeat: He never did any work on our house, just took a $100 deposit.  No materials were ever purchased, even on his contract it states that the first installment is due upon completion of the roof.  He is threatening me and my husband to send us to collections for SERVICES NOT RENDERED.

I suppose he feels it's okay to alter his own agreements after they are signed, to benefit himself and not the consumer.

Watch out for this guy!

What did the original contract say?  Depending what you signed, you might owe them.

A big point though, in that letter it says they needed your color selection for roofing and siding and they needed to measure for windows.  That says whatever you signed didn't cost them a penny.

That is an important point in whatever you do.  If they had ordered products and were stuck with them then for sure you owe.  Because that didn't happen...

What did the contract you signed say?

A funny thing I noticed.  The letter says the color selection must be "signed off by both of you".  Did both of you sign the original contract?
