Purchased a bunch of tools one of which was a 4 1/2" pair of diagonal cutters.  Put them in my tool box when I got home and never thought twice about saving a receipt since they are advertised to be warranted for the life of the tool and being they are stamped "Husky" it is pretty easy to tell where they came from.  Anyways took them out to use yesterday as I need to cut a 6 inch nylon tie.  Believe it or not they broke with one of the cutters shearing off.  Looking at the metal it is clearly visible that part of the cast is incorrect as the metal is a different color.  If I was cutting a piece of heavy gauge wire then my bad.  But a 6" nylon tie?!?!?!  Went back to the same store and got a MASSIVE run around.  Absolutely needed a receipt or there was nothing they would do.  I don't get it.  Why should I keep a receipt for potentialy years if the tool is clearly stamped with the Husky brand and they are warranted for life anyways???  Funny part was the customer behind me got in to the argument as well and could not figure out why and left the store without making their purchase.

Well HomeDepot for that lousy .50 item you so preciously are protecting is going to cost you a huge sale as I just remodeled my House and need a ton of insulation and sheet rock with the usual accomplishments.  An easy $10k and you will NEVER see a dime of it.
