I filed for bankruptcy in 2004 due to a divorce. Made monthly mortgage payments. HomeEq raised my payment amount but did not notify me therefore when I sent the payment in it was less than new payment amount. Payment did not get posted to my account and caused a late fee. I called customer service today and the rep told me that they had not received some payments.

I told him that I sent bank checks. He said that they hadn't posted and that they may have gotten lost in the mail. I don't think he belived me when I told him they had been sent. I find it strange that it takes a mortgage company 3 weeks to post a payment.

No wonder I have late fees all the time. Since January 2005 I have received 2 letters stating that HomeEq was foreclosing on my house even though I sent the payments. Can someone help?? This type of business practice should be illegal!
