I was refinancing to lower my house note.I was told a considerable lower monthly house note.

All of the paper work, leg work , meetings and talks on the phone, I finally get to the lawyer's office to sign the papers and I get a call from the representative that they will be charging a $4000.00 penalty fee, thus making my house note, not lower, but higher.

Why was this not told to me way before I get down to the lawyer's office. I might add that I had included a consolidation of some bills and changing the name to my sole ownership after my divorce. I may also add that this is my family home for 50 years. I grew up in this house. I love this house. I want to stay in it , but may have to sell it if I cannot pay the note. Or worse yet loose it.

Then, I get these nasty phone calls or I call them to tell them my payment will be late because slow business, ill health, or any of life's unexpected.I may add that I have never even been not even a month behind, just late. And I pay them a high late fee.

I have been brought to tears by these collection people asking me such things as "what do you do with your money, if you aren't paying your bills?" I swear ,this guy asked me that. He also threatened me with forclosure in a few days if I didn't pay that night over the phone.( with an exhorbitant fee for taking my check over the phone. When told I could not do that .

He said, "well, when can you?" I gave a tentative date and then he gave me all these instructions on how to wire the money at another added fee that I could not afford. I cannot begin to tell you all the ugly nasty things he said to me.

Then...He put on a new guy to start all over with me. It was if these two were sitting around and decided to just see how much they could upset, make me cry,intimidate and degrade me. Finally my son walks into the room and tells me to just hang up. I did.

I did get the guys name and turned them in to the customer service dept.They just said "sorry". But, to this day I will not call or answer the phone when they call. I am sorry I do not know how to paragraph. But I am glad to see that this was here to report with. I don't know what you can do , but please help, I do not want to loose my family home.
