Driver charged for damages and abandoning a truck and LOAD

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Unfortunately this report is falsified in several ways.  This driver never drove for Homer Express.  He was a driver for another truck owner with Homer Express.

Homer Express is a newer company that has been around for 4 years.  Majority of our owner operators have been with us since we started or shortly after starting.  In the trucking industry that alone says a lot.  As we know drivers and owner operator change jobs FREQUENTLY, as this guy did that drove for one of our O/O.

This driver also abandoned a load he was under.  Afraid to face the truck owner, and man up to the damages he caused to the truck.  But as we all know in the trucking industry the worse thing a driver can do is abandon a truck and especially with a load.  That alone should tell you the type of "driver" this guy was.  I just wish drivers would step up and admit to mistakes/accidents.

As far as being a family company - yes we are - we pride ourselves in that.  We have taken low paying loads to have a guy back home with their family when promised, we do not expect any of our drivers to be out on the road for ANY extended period of time.  This guy went way above taking advantage of that.  Yes truck broke down while he was out on the road - rather than having him sit in a hotel for a week while it was repaired - we paid to get him home and back to the truck after repairs.  If this guy would have had a credit card or debit in his name we would have rented him a car to go home in.  A lot of companies would have left him sit in the hotel, or to fend for themselves. (all of this to get him home with his kids).

We value everyone of our drivers and owner operators.  We appreciate their committments being out on the road away from their families and work very closely with all of them.

Poor Driver

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Unfortunately not every driver is truly a "truck driver".  This guy is a disgruntle driver who abandoned a very damaged truck with a load.  He had a load to deliver and his next pickup was in Warrenton, and the owner of the truck said he would meet him when picking up the load to go over the truck.  The "driver" did not want to face the owner and so took the truck and load home and abanoned it at a truck stop.  Very poor driver, with no morals or ethics.  We are very thankful for all the awesome drivers that we have with us.  Not every driver out there is good and every now and then you get one of those guys that give al the good drivers a bad name.  Thank you to all the drivers out there that.  We greatly appreciate all you do.
