The purpose of my report here today is to help advocate for other consumers and prevent other citizens from the scam we experienced from HomeShield Pest Control.
Breach of service agreement without notification to us first. Money and visit unauthorized in wrong months. Our service agreement means nothing to this company. Technician came to our home and trespassed to our backyard during the wrong months and without notice. Payment came out of our bank account on the wrong month without approval from us or notification first. If you want to cancel your service due to the ongoing bookkeeping errors and faudulent property sprays, be prepared to be charged $250.00 for a cancellation fee.
The most troubling complaint I have is that after we wrote a complaint letter to management, the President acted nice and said he would waive our cancellation fee. Then we asked he at least refund us 1/2 of the incorrectly chardged service fee in Jan 2014 because they did not spray the backyard. The President agreed to a refund conditionally telling me I must first change my negative online reviews on YELP and GOOGLE. After reporting this company to the BBB, I learned as of 1/30/2014 they are rated "F" with a revoked status. Beware consumers, the sales tactics are not trustworthy either. The contract was not completely filled out at time of sale when they came to our door asking for us to use their services. We were distracted from noticing there was no written license number on the contract, no contract term chosen, and no complete business information on the contract.
We tried to work directly with HomeShield but received numberous excuses for their errors. I feel compelled to mention that I feel like this company is in the business of scamming people into contractual agreements. I feel this business should not be eligible for service in our Placer County, or in any other local counties. I'm certaintly not in the business of writing negative reviews; however, this company is truly a society risk and has potential of making profits off people via their so called contractual agreements.
