After reading the other reports I can see a method of operation here.

About a year ago, or less we were "bought" by Homeside Lending. Early this year I received a "late" charge from them, I couldn't figure out how my check could be late, but I paid it, and the next month I sent a check with a "sign for" attached, it cost me 12 plus dollars to find out that it only took less than 3 days to reach Pasadena CA where I send my payment.

Then a month ago I got a really nasty letter from them saying I didn't have insurance, so I called AAA and asked what was going on, they said they would send the info again, and they did.

Today I received a letter saying that during their audit in February they checked with my county's tax collector, and found that I haven't paid my taxes for '98-'99-'00-'01! Well I was furious, I called them and asked what the heck was going on as I knew all my taxes were paid.

The gal Sharona or something similar asked me to hold, then came back and said what they really want is copies of all my checks front and back sent to them to prove that I paid the taxes. Okay, I spent the rest of the afternoon finding and copying, and writing a letter to them telling them that they are liars, and terrorists.

Then tonight at just short of 8 PM PDT, Rodney Garcia calls me and asks if I sent in my April payment. I told him that I wrote the check on the 8th and mailed it on the 8th at the Post Office. Tomorrow I will go to the bank and see if its cashed or what.

I feel that this isn't the end of my problems with Homeside Lending. Is it because I have a low interest on my loan, and they are either trying to force us to be in the position that they can call our note, or are they just that bad at keeping track of things?

I know one thing, I'm afraid that they are going to injure my credit standing, which is very good.

Delinquent Taxes - Are you non-escrowed ?

In reviewing your complaint - I would suggest that you verify with your Mortgage Company that thier Real Estate Tax Records reflect the correct Tax Agency and Parcel for the property encumbered by your Mortgage. In many cases, mortgage companies utilize an outside TAX SERVICE vendor to obtain and report tax information. It is very possible that the TAX SERVICE may be reporting incorrect tax information to your lender, who in turn has contacted you.

I would also suggest that you contact your Tax Collector and have POP (Proof of Payment) mailed to you - this POP should be forwarded to your lender along with a WRITTEN request for a response. Per RESPA (Real Estate Protection Act)your lender must respond in writing within 20 business days.

Good luck to you.
