Homeworks plus, appeared on my credit card statement. I did not notice this for 6 months. ( I am busy ) I called the number on my statement. The call connected to a call center in Montreau Canada. The english speaking abilities of the call center personnel lacked to say the least.

I asked what this was all about, why are they billing me anything at all. They stated that was a member of some Homeworks Plus and that my 30 day trail had passed. I stated that I did not recall ordering from them. They countered with I must have ordered something on the telephone and that this was a subsequent offer I agreed to. I stated that I did not recall anything like that. The first person I talked to agreed to cancel the membership (which I did not have). But would not credit the other months back to my credit card.

I was given the person's name and ID number and then transferred. The next person stated that I has waited too long and the since the 30 day trail was up I could not get a refund. At this point I stated I did not receive anything and since this was the case the 30 day trail never started. They then indicated that their records show that a package was sent to my home. I stated that it never arrived I never received it. They reinterrated their position.

At this ponit I asked for a supervisor. I was told that the person I was speaking to was the final authority. I insisted that he give me his bosses name. He refused. I then asked for the name of the company and their phone number, again refused.

I then asked if I had called another country. They answered yes, Montreau, Canada. I began to laugh out loud. Very loud. I then stated oh, that's right you guys lost the Stanley Cup last night!! I repeated this 4 times. Followed by this comment, Montreau, French? Le hot dog? Excuse me was the reply. Le Hot Dog, I repeated. Click, they hung up.

I know that my actions in the end were immature, but so be it, I am, sometimes.

Next? Using my computer skills, I lookup on the company's contact info by doing a whois search on the dealpass.com domain name. I hit pay dirt, telephone, fax, city state, zip, email addresses.

I called and was connected to customer relations. Myrna answered the call and was very polite and patient. However, she could not reverse the charges. She stated that I had waited to long and that I got an obligation to report the matter sooner. (after seeing it on my credit card statement) I mentioned that I did report it as soon as I saw it, which was today.

She felt that I had to act quicker even though I did not order and was unaware that the charges were being made. She then offered to get the tape recording of the call that I was on while ordering some product over the phone. I agreed to allow her time to retrieve it.

I mentioned that if she has such a tape that I would at least know what company I was talking to when this pitch was made. BUT I still did not received the 30 day trial kit and therefore no trail began. And this is where I left it. I will follow up and through and report back to this wonderful site.

do a chargeback

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

don't feel too bad, i,one of their own employees got treated like dirt. Harrassed by my own supervisor and not heard by human resources who failed in doing something about it..What you need todo is simple..Call them again and ask to speak to a supervisor..tell them you will call your credit card company and you will do a chargeback. better yet, call your credit card company and tell them the situation..have them on line with you and the supervisor from memberworks. Ask for your full refund, ask them for all your money back to the last dime.If for some reason that doesn't work then don't be afraid to contact your attorney general or even a lawyer. As for the package they say you received, ask them for some tracking number or even proof..believe me, they don't have any of it..they barely ever send out any packages..9 out of 10 calls people don't receive any package..25 out 0f 9 calls people don't know why they have been billed or even remember any sort of offer..
