Honda 35 Jet unit boat motors breather tube assemblies have too small of orifice for rivers with sand or silty bottoms. Many inividuals including the State of Alaska have had to install a brass fitting with larger orifice and a larger diameter hose to correct the situation.

The problem is that the metric brass fitting with larger orifice is impossible to locate in the numerous parts stores that I have looked (high and low)and Alaska Mining and Diving/Honda state it will void the warranty if you don't use Honda approved parts. The problem without the correct metric part is that it cossthreads into the block of the engine.

Honda opinion is that they cannot design a Jet Motor for all waters and conditions. So if you live on a water body with a sand or bottom your breather tube will clogged extremely often and your engine will over-heat.

99.9% of all water bodies have sand or silty bottoms. The answer is to not spend a lot of hard earned money on a Honda boat motor engine.
