About a month ago my wife and I went to Honda of Clear Lake to purchase a new Accord. Our salesman was Justin McDonald and he was great to work with, however the sales manager Bennet Johnson is the one to watch out for at this dealership. Bennet Johnson is quite the quick change artist.

When working out the original deal everytime our sales person brought back the paperwork from Bennet the numbers were always wrong. I believe it took him four tries to take the agreed upon numbers and come up with the correct final sales price. After this very frustrating process of 3rd-4th grade math they did not have the exact car that we wanted and said they would order it for us from another dealer, which was fine with us.

About a month goes by before they even get a car in stock that is a color we like. So my wife goes in to purchase the vehicle at the agreed upon base price of 27k plus the dealer add on's and transportation fee which brought the vehicle to around 29k before TTL. Well Bennet gets the paper work and has the base vehicle price as 29k then adds on transportation fee and dealer add ons. My wife catches this and sends the paper work back, and what do you know.... HERE COMES THE FUZZY MATH AGAIN!! The paperwork was sent back several times because his math would never add up. It went back soo many times that Bennet got mad and admitted to double charge dealer add on's just to make up for how bad they were losing out on our trade in.

Finally the deal worked out fine and Bennet got the numbers back to the original deal. Our sales guy even said he had never seen a customer go back over the numbers and add them up. So that leads me to believe that many customers have been the victim of Bennets fuzzy math if they are not double checking the figures.

So word to the wise... Don't trust the dealership to be accurate in their figures.

Well I believe you are missing the point of the report. The add on's I paid for are items I wanted and your rebuttal is invalid.

If you had some much of a problem with them putting the wrong numbers down, why didn't you just walk out?  Then you gloss over this $2000 extra as if it doesn't matter!  We're talking what in that $2000?  BOGUS, ADD-ON, PHONEY FEES which you went along with?  Come on!  You're the customer!  When it looks like a game is being played, you get up and you walk out!
