Hooters Management (using the term loosely) is full of double-standards.  While they try to be a family restaurant and go by their little handbook, but it depends who it is on how they apply their rules.  For example, they have a no fraternizing policy, but yet Director of Operations, Dan's wife (if still married) was a Hooters girl when they met. Neil, a GM had an assistant manager under him that was dating an employee but "acted suprised" when it was brought to his attention. This group is very cut-throat and you better have some good intel to stay alive. One of their managers, who I will not name, been with the company for years and was smart enough to bring a camera to events when travelling with the owners, and he has lots of pics to ensure his long-term employment. Also, one of the owners got into some trouble a few years back because he had some of the UNDERAGE calendar girls at his house consuming alcohol and one of the girls mother found out about it. The outcome was not published but shortly there after the owner was given an award by the local chamber of commerce for being a wonderful person. This group devolved it to something less than meets the eye!  Winghouse is opening a store just a couple of blocks from the original Hooters, way to go Crawford Ker!!!

Where is the ripoff?

How is this a "Ripoff"? Sounds like you are a disgruntled employee to me.

I used to own a business and I can tell you that  the rules listed in "Employee Handbooks" often do not apply to executives. This was the case with my company as we also did not encourage nepotism however my wife and kids worked there also so we had to have a disclaimer.
