Hope Animal Clinic in Bessemer, AL. off Morgan Road is the issue. I went there for my very first time. I had heard from some people that it was a great place. Boy were they wrong! I took my dog to the clinic and the vet by the name of Racheal came in. I explained to her that my dogs lymph nodes were swelled up and I wanted to make sure there was no cancer. She came back and said she didn't want to distress my dog so she couldn't get the fluid out. We spoke a little longer of what to do and agreed on blood work.
I told her to be careful with my 2lb dog before she walked out of the room. When she came back into the room she stated that she ran an xray (now take in mind she did this WITHOUT my consent) because I had spoke about my dog not breathing well and she wanted to check out her trachea and heart. She said it was no charge to me. I found this odd because NO VET does anything for free just to be nice! She also stated that my dog had the start to a problem with her knee popping in and out of joint and if it got to the point that she couldn't bare weight on her leg or was in pain we'd need to do surgery.
I explained to her that I've had my dog for close to six years and she's never once limped or acted as though anything was wrong nor has ANY vet said she's had this type of problem. Well I left there to go home and when I got home I sat down in the floor with my dog and she was limping! I called the vet right away and they kept me on hold for forever only to come back and tell me that I needed to set up surgery. Racheal would not even speak to me on the phone! I started calling around due to not knowing what was going on. I went straight in to another vet clinic and they ran an xray on my dogs legs.
What they found was horrible! BOTH of my dogs knee caps were popped out of place AND she has a torn ACL!!!!! Now it was perfectly clear what happened! Hope Animal Clinic's vet or handlers dropped my dog and they ran an xray to make sure they didn't break anything! I called to speak to the owner (Dr. Fuller) and he of course said I needed to speak with Racheal the vet. Racheal the next morning called me and told me that she did nothing wrong and was gentle and kind with my dog and she asked all the handlers and they were too. Then she had the gall to say that it could have happened when I left the office!! How dare her!!!!
I've had my dog for six years and she's had NO limp and ironically when I bring her in to THEIR office for the 1st time we go in with NO injuries yet leave with 2 knee caps out of place AND a torn ACL!! Not only did I have to drop $200 for the new vet bill but now I'm going to have to fork out a lot of money for surgery! They won't pay a dime! All I asked for was the truth and no one will be honest with me. I trusted them with my most prized possession and they hurt her! I've cried more then I can stand on this issue. DON'T EVER take your animals over to Hope Animal Clinic! They will hurt your animal and then they will lie to you and in the end they will blame YOU for what THEY DID!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!
