Complaint Review: Hope Bryant

I advertised two apartment buildings which I had for sale on a very popular Brazilian website called ZAP (www.zap.com.br). In March 24th, I received an email from a person (supposedly an American woman called Hope Bryant, hopebryant10@hotmail.com) telling me that she would like to buy the property. I told her that I also had another apartment for sale in the same building. Unhesitatingly she replied that she would like to buy this other apartment unit as well. Then she asked me to remove both ads from the internet and told me that she would only be able to be in Brazil to close the deal on the next month. I asked for an invoice of 10% so that I could feel safer about the business. That was then that she started telling me this long and very odd story about how she had been working for the Red Army in Afghanistan, where she had made 11 million dollars out of some really profitable investments on the oil and gas industry. She told me that she would need my help bringing the money to Brazil, so that she could invest it here. She stated that she would give me a commission of 20% for the help. After thinking that all this was really strange, I googled for some of the keywords that were presented in her previous messages. I came across some blogs where people would be telling others that they had been scammed (or at least about people that attempted to scam them by using the same story). I immediately ceased the communication with the scammer.
