Hostdime aka Host dime is in my opinion, the internet's worst hosting company or hosting server. If your hosting with host dime, Hopefully you'll read this post in time to change to another host before hostdime loses your website or even worse, get's your site and domain name blacklisted!

Hostdimes site says that they don't support hate sites, but they seem to support them all the time.

Even Hostdimes owner seems to support hate sites - (It seems that Hostdime supports hate sites because they would rather work with a quick fly-by nite business and make a quick buck then to provide reliable hosting to legit businesses or site owners. )

With fly-by-nite services, Hostdime may not have to worry about providing legit and respectable service. Instead, they can worry about making a quick buck and moving on to the next person.

If your a legit company, you'll want to stay far away from Hostdime as they have a long history of losing sites, failing to back up sites, getting sites blacklisted, losing your email and blocking peoples websites. You can search for hostdime reviews on google to read some horror stories about hostdime.

HostingTech.com has an interesting article regarding HostDime's two-faced position on hosting hate-speech with some interesting quotes from Manny Vivar, HostDime's President.

Here is what one person said,

"After a few days of downtime the hate group found another host, of course. Upon doing a whois lookup, I found that the new IPs traced to HostDime. I notified HostDime on April 20th via email to ask them if the hate groups web sites were in violation of their acceptable use policy. Manny Vivar, President of HostDime replied that same day informing me that We have given notice to the owner of the server to take off those sites within 3 business days to prevent service interruption. Several days later on April 28th, I followed up and the sites were still online."

The horror stories go on forever with this company. There is even one story at webhostingtalk where someone informed hostdime that there was a site which promoted credit card fraud. Did hostdime do the right thing and remove this site before hundred or thousands of people lost their credit information? - Not a chance!

Hostdime is dead set on making a quick buck and not caring about long term hosting solutions. This couldn't be any more evident than taking a look at some of the sites they host.

Hostdime will never admit to these things, however, if you do a search on the internet, you'll see that this is hostdime's rule rather than exception. Hostdime not only operates under the hostdime name but operates under numerous other business names.

Hopefully readers of this can go to their hosting site and compare the address to hostdimes address stated below.

HostDime.com, Inc.
189 South Orange Avenue
Suite 1500S
Orlando, Florida 32801
United States of America

If you see that your host has the address above or has a similar address, you may want to consider moving to a new and more secure host which doesn't have such a horrible history.

In my opinion, If you care about your website, and care about your business. You'll stay far away from Hostdime!

I've been using them for over 3 years (it might be longer). I am a reseller and have about 60 subaccounts that I designed and host for.

Not only do I get service at any hour of day or night, I get courtesy. It is a plus that it is a company here in America and even in my own timezone (I've been with other companies and you have to experience the flip side to appreciate this). I can call and get resolution immediately or if I'm not in a rush, their ticket system has fast turnaround.

These guys have NEVER not supported me and have even given me advice on solutions that have nothing to do with the hosting. For example, if I have a software problem, they usually are personally knowledgeable about a solution I can look for on the web, so it's like have a geeky friend who knows it all.

I knowingly save money by using the 'shared server' solution and it (seldom) but does have it's drawbacks but they are quick to get us whitelisted if a spammer gets our IP address in trouble... and it hasn't happened in a long time. Anytime I want, I can spend a little more and get my own dedicated hosting... I choose not to.

Bottom line, 'stuff happens' and the difference between it making or breaking a company is their response and I get nothing but top-notch support by someone on the other end of the call that cares.

Sammy, I don't think they can be held responsible for 'hate sites'. Last time I checked this was America, and men and women have given their lives to defend your right to disagree with the opinions of your neighbor.

I am aware that you can Google and get trash talk about Dime, but anyone with an internet access can post pretty much whatever they want so you need to weigh in on who's talking.

I don't work for HostDime (and no, I'm not Manny's mom, LOL!). I just think that 'bad exists in the world because good people turn their heads.' I've seen two sites that trash a company that is the lifeblood of my business and decided that I should just put my 2 cents in...

Proud to use Host Dime (and no, not Manny's mom--I didn't even know that was the company owner's name until this article)

I have used HostDime for over 3 years and highly recommend them.

In reading your complain I see no specific complaint but just a series of generalizations. You make a number of claims:

1. Hosting of "hate" sites

HostDime not only direct host but they also lease servers. They cannot possibily police the content of all servers Nor can any commerical hosting company. If they host "hate" sites then it is because customers are violating their policy. This happens on all hosting networks.

HOstDime has a clear policy on the type of sites they will host. If you find a site hosted by them you consider inappropriate then you can contact them. They then have to take proper steps to determine if a site is in voilation of their policy. They cannot just take a site down. They have to follow due process. If you think they are not acting fast enough then you take that up with them.

2. Blacklisting of sites

I assume you mean that a site is not listed by a search engine. HostDime have no control over this.

If you mean as a source of spam. Again HostDime has not control over this.

3. Operating under more than one name

It is perfectly legal for a company to operate under more than one trading name and certainly under more than one website.

None of you claims hold any water.
