I cancelled my service with Hostgator in July of last year (2023). That was 9 months ago.

I did it through their chat feature. Their Terms of Use says you have to use their "cancellation form" but the link to it doesn't go anywhere.

After I cancelled I had no more monthly charges from them and the person I did the chat with told me it was cancelled. So I was suprised to see another year of service on my credit card in April of 2024.

I pulled up their website and chatted with a support person who informed me that no refunds can be issued once the renewal is done. I was told that I was charged because I hadn't gone into my account online and unchecked the "auto renew" box after I cancelled. The "auto renew" box is checked for you automatically when you sign up! And the rep I chatted with never mentioned anything like that when I cancelled!

I tried 2 more times with 2 other reps and got the same answer. NO REFUNDS. I said "But I cancelled"!

It's not right. They can't just autorenew people who have cancelled months ago!

I want a refund for the credit card charge of $22.95 in April 2024.
