I AM CUSTOMER WHO ONE DAY HAPPEN TO WAL INTO HOTCARDS.COM, AND I SAW THE OWNER COLUMBUS WOODRUFF, AND A GUY NAMED DENNIS ABUSE AN EMPLOYEE THERE BY THREATNING THIS EMPLOYEE, NOT ONLY, BUT THREATEN HIM WITH PHYSICAL HARM. I IMMEDIATLEY WALKED OUT AND WENT TO JAKPRINTS AND I WAS IMPRESSED BY THE NICE ACCURATE ATTENTION I HAVE RECIEVED THERE. BACK TO HOTCARDS, THEY RIPPED OFF ((ROR redacted))) IN THE COLOR SCHEME OF THERE OFFICE, AND THE OWNER OF HOTCARDS TRIES TO ACT LIKE THE OWNER OF (((ROR redacted))). I HAVE NEVER EVER SEEN SUCH A TRIPPED OUT SITUATION, AND I AM VERY DISAPOINTED AT HOTCARDS FOR THEIR ABUSE AND PROFANITY TOWARDS THAT EMPLOYEE, AND UN-PROFESSINALISM EVER.

Below is the email I sent to the original Poster "Jose" last night in response to the email he sent to me, however it got bounced back to me.... I emailed it again this morning. Because I am not sure whether or not he got it I decided to post it here as well. I find it very strange him asking me to resolve this matter outside of Ripoff report when he never tried to do that himself.

And since I feel a need to explain my every action and make sure it is truthful here is the bounced email message I recieved.

Yes we realized this when I went to work this morning and shared the report you wrote with everyone in the office. We all sat around trying to figure out what would posess this ex-employee to write such a bogus story. Then Brandon who is our lead designer said he believed it was an actual customer who may have seen us playing around and thought we were serious.

After everyone sat around for about 20 minutes talking about this... Carlos one of our designers realized that he vaguely remembered a day Dennis and I had told him he had reached his laugh quota for the day and if he laughed again we were going to whoop his a*s. After he jogged our memory we barely even remembered it.

I think you may have walked in on us playing around with Carlos.... like we do everyday at hotcards. You can call Carlos tomorrow and ask him yourself if he or any other employee has ever been mistreated at our company. Or maybe contact him outside of the office and ask him that question....

I believe you must have walked in while we were messing with Carlos and then didn't see us laughing about it afterwards. As I said in my post "I HAVE NEVER, EVER" in my ten years of owning this company ever even raised my voice at one of our employees. I am a huge believer in two things. The Customer is #1 and the Employee is #1 ...... I have always believed that If you don't have good customers and good employees you don't have a business.

I apologize that you came into our company and got the wrong impression of our business. And obviously the wrong impression of me. I am not sure what you were implying by saying I act like I am the owner of (?) .......... Ripoff report bleeped that part out. And I was not sure why you were saying we ripped off (?) someone else's office design. Because you seemed to be attacking anything you could about our company.. that is why I originally thought it was the ex employee I mentioned who had written what I thought was a totally made up report.

Anyway, I think you should stop by the office and get to know us..... I am sure you will see us in a totally different light. But don't take my word for it... contact Carlos yourself and he will tell you that it was all just a joke and you missed the part when we were all laughing about it.

I only have one other suggestion for you, and I know you don't know me and I don't know you so I don't want to sound like I am telling you what to do.... this is strictly a suggestion. The next time you have a problem with a business or a person, why not tell them about it first, before broadcasting it to the world. You mentioned in your report you were very disappointed. If I was disappointed with the someone by their actions, i would have emailed the owner of the business and told him I was disappointed by what I had seen and given them a chance to respond before I try to tear down their business. Anyway once again.... just a suggestion

Although I was not happy at all to find the report..... I do understand why you wrote it and I hope you do the research by asking anyone and I do mean anyone If what I am saying is absolutely true.... and if you do find out that what I have said is true.... I would hope you would try to repair our company with good words as quickly as you wanted to tear it down with the negative ones.

I do appreciate you responding, it at least gave me a chance to respond back. Thank you for that.

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT MR. WOODRUFF DID EMAIL ME AND RECTIFIED THE SITUATION. I AM VERY PLEASED IN THIS SITUATION, AND GETTING THE FULL UNDERSTANDING. SO I GIVE PROPS TO THE OWNER OF HOTCARDS, AND I WILL MAKE THE TURN BACK TO THEM. WHEN HE MENTIONED CARLOS, WHO IS A GRAPHIC DESISGNER AT HOTCARDS, MATTER OF FACT, HE'S AN EXCELLENT GRAPHIC ARTIST I SHOULD SAY. MAYBE, I MIS-UNDERSTOOD THAT SITUATION AND DIDNT TAKE IT VERY WELL BECAUSE IT SEEMED LIKE THE GUY WAS SERIOUS. I, ON THE OTHER HAND DIDNT KNOW IF IT WAS A JOKE OR NOT. NEVERTHELESS, I HAVE SEEN THE WORK OF HOTCARDS AND THEY DO PRINT QUALITY WORK. I WAS LAUGHING MY REAR-END OFF WHEN I SAW THE REBUTALL, THAT SAID EX EMPLOYEE, EX FELON, DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEE.

SO AGAIN, THANK YOU MR. WOODRUFF FOR YOUR CLEAR AND CONCISE EXPLANATION OF THE EVENTS. AS FOR THE GUY WHO WAS JUST PLAYIN, BY ACTING LIKE HE WAS YELLIN, MY ADVICE WOULD BE THATS GOOD AND ALL TOO JOKE AND PLAY, BUT WHEN YOU AARE IN AN CUSTOMER ORIENTED FACILITY, IN WHICH DEALS WITH THE PUBLIC, AND DIRECTLY WITH CUSTOMERS, MAKE SURE YOU ARE WELL TAKEN AND UNDERSTOOD THAT YOU ARE KIDDING AROUND, I THINK MR. WOODRUFF HAS WORKED HARD TO BE WHERE HE IS AT, AND REGARDLESS IF ONE CUSTOMER GETS LOST IN THE SHUFFLE, ONE CUSTOMER TO LOSE, IS GREAT; TO LOSE ONE CUSTOMER WHO CAN LEAD YOU TO 20 TO 100 JOBS IS A GREAT LOSS. MY RECCOMENDATION TO HOTCARDS FOR THE GREAT RESPONSE, AND I WILL COME BACK AND SPEAK TO MR. WOODRUFF PERSONALLY AND DO BUSINESS WITH HIM.

TO RESPOND BACK BACK TO MR. WOODRUFFS REBUTTAL DISAPOINTS ME, BECAUSE NOT ONLY HE IS SAYING WHAT I SAW WAS UNTRUE, NOW HE'S CALLING ME A LIAR' I AM IN GRAPHIC ARTS, AND I WAS TRYING TO GET A JOB PRINTED THROUGH HOTCARDS, AND THEN I MADE THE JUMP TO JAKPRINTS.COM. IT SO APPARENT HOW MR. WOODRUFF ALWAYS HAS 10 PARAGRAPHS TO EXPLAIN AND COVER UP HIS DOINGS OR ACTIONS CURTAILING THE DOINGS OF HOTCARDS. I NEVER SAID HOTCARDS WAS A "BAD COMPANY" I WAS TRYING TO SAY THAT WHAT I SAW WAS IN-EXCUSABLE, AND UN-PROFESSIONAL TO SAY THE LEAST. I HAVE SENT MR. WOODRUF A COPY OF MY AOL PROFILE, AND HOPEFULLY THAT WILL RING A BELL TO HIM. 'HOPEFULLY' SO I WOULD WELCOME HOTCARDS TO EMAIL ME PERSONALLY TO RESOLVE THIS CONFLICT. WHY MR. Disgruntled Ex-Employee / Convicted Felon / NO TRUTH WHATSOEVER

I am absolutely blown away by this totall false made up story. This story should be immediately taken down from this website. I am the Owner Columbus Woodruff that this obviously untrue and made up story was about.

Not only have I NEVER threatened an employee at my company, I have never even raised my voice at an employee in my ten years of owning my (a fact I am very proud of). I can count on one hand the number of people who have quit while working for me and I have only fired 2 people in ten years. I am so upset that Ripoff report would allow people to post just anything they want on their site with no verification at all of who the poster truly is or if the story has any merit at all.

I am quite sure this post was made be a certain disgruntled employee who is one of the 2 people we have fired in our ten years. After firing hime he left our company and went to work for the company he mentioned in this report...... They Fired him also!

While he was at our company he was convicted of a felony, and had many lawsuits pending against him. I had not heard from this employee since he left our company a few months ago... but ironically I got a call from him just a few days ago after he was fired by the company he mentioned in his ripoff report. He wanted to know If we might have had something to do with him getting fired from this other company.

I told him to get a life and told him not to contact our company again...... very ironic that the next day this Bogus Ripoff Report was filed. I challenge anyone to contact our company and ask any employee about how we treat our employees. We are a Union Print shop as well.... no union employee or union rep would ever stand for such behavior that we were falsely accused of.

I would request that Ripoff Report take this Bogus Story off their site, or have the person give their real name and real identity instead of just posting a fake name and city. You are allowing them to use real names to File Bogus Reports. I am requesting a retraction immediately. Thank You.


and to the fake poster.... if your story is so true.... put it on Youtube with your real name and real face and also why don't you share with us who the employee was who was mistreated and let them come in and tell the story.
